Who we are

“Before I was a hitting coach, I was a chemist. My job was to build predictive models—tools that could analyze the structure of a molecule and estimate whether it would be toxic. It was a field built on patterns, precision, and structure-to-outcome thinking.

And then I looked around at the way most coaches were teaching the baseball swing—and none of that same rigor was there.

Everything felt random. Flawed. Based on feel, tradition, or worse—on coaches repeating the same bad cues that ruined my swing in college.

That made me mad. Because I knew hitting could be taught differently. Better. With real structure. With objective feedback. With the same kind of discipline and pattern recognition we used in science. So in 2016, I walked away from the lab and started Ignite Baseball.

At Ignite, we don’t do fluff. We don’t waste time pretending that effort alone makes you better. And we definitely don’t sell false hope to parents who are just looking for someone to tell them their kid is special.

What we do is teach. Relentlessly. We work with athletes who are ready to own their development, who take pride in mastering their movement, and who understand that results don’t come from showing up—they come from showing up differently.”

Old school values, new school development.

At Ignite Baseball, our philosophy is simple: athletes deserve objective feedback, not just guesswork. We prioritize development over quick fixes, training with precision, positivity, and purpose. We pride ourselves on being a place where every athlete, whether 10U or pro, gets a clear roadmap for improvement. Our culture is driven by creating a positive, team-first environment that builds athleticism, character, and skill.

What sets us apart is our tried and true hitting system. We train players based on biomechanics and data, with an innovative approach that has been refined and proven over more than ten years of training. Our six-level hitting system breaks down the swing into predictive components and sets us apart by enabling our coaches to cut through the noise to focus on what actually works: vision, forward movement, separation, trunk rotation, angles, and the upper body. And it’s not just a theory – it’s a proven method that has been successful with MLB, college, and youth players.
