Vladimir Guerrero Jr. World Series Swing Breakdown

Today we’re looking at Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s swing.

He has had an excellent playoff run.

What’s particularly unique about his swing is the way he moves — it is designed for demolishing pitches at the top of the strike zone. And in the playoffs, where most pitchers throw elite‐level 4-seam fastballs at the top of the zone, a swing like his can really dominate.

So what makes it so elite for high pitches?

1. His forward move is very consistent and early.

2. His barrel tip toward the opposite batter’s box allows him to lay his barrel down perpendicular to his spine, so he can get behind high pitches early and stay on plane.

He’s an amazing hitter.

Postseason Stats: .397 AVG, 29 hits, 8 HR, 15 RBI, 18 runs scored in 18 games. That’s one of the best playoff slates in recent memory.
